Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering for, or using the WayofLife Victorious Church web application and Progressive Web App ("the System"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the System.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and WayofLife Victorious Church ("the Church," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

To use the System, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age. Users under 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian.
• Be a member, regular attendee, or authorized administrator of WayofLife Victorious Church.
• Provide accurate and complete information during registration or as requested by church administrators.

3. User Accounts and Authentication

Access to the System requires authentication through one of the following methods:

• Email and password — For administrators and super administrators.
• Passwordless email login code — A one-time code sent to your registered email address.
• Google OAuth — Sign in via your Google account for quick and secure access.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and login codes.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Immediately notifying church administration if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the System only for its intended purposes related to church membership, attendance, spiritual growth, and community engagement. You shall NOT:

1. Use the System for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose.
2. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or restricted areas of the System.
3. Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information, including falsifying attendance records.
4. Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to compromise the security or performance of the System.
5. Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to scrape data or interact with the System without authorization.
6. Share, distribute, or disclose other members' personal data without their explicit consent.
7. Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content.
8. Use the System for commercial purposes, advertising, or solicitation unrelated to church activities.
9. Circumvent or attempt to bypass security measures, including attendance verification (QR codes, facial recognition, geofencing).

5. Attendance Verification and Facial Recognition

The System provides attendance verification through QR codes and optional facial recognition technology:

5.1 QR Code Attendance

• Each member is assigned a unique QR code for attendance check-in at church events.
• QR codes are personal and non-transferable. You must not share or allow others to use your QR code.
• Misuse of QR codes for fraudulent check-ins may result in disciplinary action, including account suspension.

5.2 Facial Recognition (Optional)

• Facial recognition is an optional additional layer of identity verification during attendance check-in.
• You must provide explicit consent before using this feature. You may opt out at any time.
• Facial recognition processing occurs entirely on your device (client-side). Biometric templates are not stored on our servers.
• Only verification results (match status, confidence scores) and timestamps are recorded for audit purposes.

5.3 Geofencing

• Certain events may use location-based geofencing to verify that check-ins occur within the event vicinity.
• Location data is used solely for attendance verification and is not tracked outside of the check-in process.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the System is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

By using the System, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, design elements, logos, and trademarks within the System are owned by or licensed to WayofLife Victorious Church and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or publicly display any part of the System without prior written consent from the Church.

8. Progressive Web App (PWA)

The System is available as a Progressive Web App that can be installed on your device. By installing the PWA:

• You acknowledge that the app may cache data locally on your device for offline functionality.
• You are responsible for the security of your device. If your device is lost or stolen, notify church administration to secure your account.
• Push notifications, if enabled, will be used solely for church-related communications (event reminders, birthday greetings, attendance summaries).
• You may uninstall the PWA at any time through your device's application management settings.

9. Donations and Financial Transactions

The System may facilitate the recording of tithes and donations. By submitting donation information:

• You confirm that all information provided is accurate and truthful.
• Donation records are maintained for financial transparency and accountability.
• The Church may generate tithe transparency reports accessible to authorized members and administrators.
• All financial data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Philippine laws.

10. Disclaimers

The System is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated insights and predictions (churn predictions, habit trends, goal predictions).
• Reliability of third-party integrations (Google OAuth, email delivery, AI providers).

AI-driven features (insights, predictions, reports) are provided as decision-support tools and should not be the sole basis for pastoral or administrative decisions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Philippine law, the Church and its administrators, officers, volunteers, and developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the System.
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
• Actions taken based on AI-generated insights or predictions.
• Service interruptions, downtime, or technical errors.

12. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the System, without prior notice, for any of the following reasons:

• Violation of these Terms of Use.
• Fraudulent or deceptive behavior, including attendance fraud.
• Conduct that threatens the security, integrity, or reputation of the System or the Church.
• Extended inactivity, subject to notification.
• Request by you to close your account.

Upon termination, your right to use the System ceases immediately. Data retention following termination is governed by our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made:

• The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
• For material changes, you may be required to re-accept the updated terms through the System's policy agreement screen.
• Continued use of the System after modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the System shall be resolved through amicable negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the appropriate courts of the Philippines.
